Dinner by Dames at Eat Drink RI Festival
Providence has received numerous accolades for its food, including being named the #1 Food City in the United States (2012) and America’s Favorite City (2014) by Travel + Leisure readers. And if you want to find what the fuss is about for yourself, Dinner by Dames is an opportunity to sample the work of several talented local culinary stars all in one sitting.
A fundraiser benefitting AIDS Care Ocean State, Dinner by Dames features five of Rhode Island's most talented female chefs, who combine to create a multi-course dining event: Melissa Denmark of Gracie’s and Ellie’s Bakery, Jordan Goldsmith of Moonrose Farm, Maria Meza of El Rancho Grande, Ashley Vanasse of Easy Entertaining Inc. and Jessica Wood of Fire and Water Restaurant Group. The three guest Dames for April's dinner will be Lisa Lofberg of Little Moss, Rebecca Lentrichia of Renaissance Providence Downtown Hotel and Caitlyn McGuire of Ellie’s Bakery. To make the evening that much more special, Jen Davis of The Eddy, leads a group of RI's top female bartenders in creating cocktail pairings for each course. The dinner runs from 6 - 10 p.m.; tickets are all-inclusive of $160.
If this whets your appetite for more, good. Dinner by Dames is but the second event of the 7th annual Eat Drink RI Festival (April 25-28, 2018), a star-studded weekend featuring over 80 chefs, farmers, bartenders and producers. Highlights include The Grand Tasting at the Rhode Island Convention Center on Saturday -- samplings of over fifty local producers, with beer, wine & spirits, and an abundance of local food artisans.
