GardenFest at Florence Griswold Museum

Join the Museum’s Garden Gang for the annual GardenFest at Florence Griswold – a ten-day celebration of the site’s historic gardens – which runs through Sunday, June 17.

Famous American Impressionists Childe Hassam and William Chadwick were inspired by Florence Griswold’s house, gardens and river views, all of which became subjects for her artistic boarders. (You can still rest where Chadwick posed his model for his famous painting On the Piazza.)

GardenFest features special events, garden tours, demonstrations, and a wide variety of activities for all ages and interest levels, most of them free with Museum admission ($10 adults, $9 seniors, $8 students, kids 12 and under free). Highlights include Garden Luncheon and Blooms with a View. For more information, Florence Griswold Museum, 96 Lyme Street, Old Lyme, CT 06371; 860 434 5542; www.florencegriswoldmuseum.org
