Golf at Pinehills
Most of the really good golf courses in America aren’t open to the general public…and if they are, they’re not as affordable as Pinehills Golf Club, starting October 9.
First, about the course. Listed as one of the “Top Ten You Can Play” by Golf Magazine (and number one in Massachusetts by other pubs), Pinehills is a public course, created to rival the country’s most prestigious golf clubs. It features two 5-star championship courses – one designed by Rees Jones, and a second by Nicklaus Design. The club has won the praises of Golf Magazine, Golf Digest and Travel & Leisure Golf magazine, among others. If you really like golf (and are pretty good at it), both courses are must-dos.
While rates aren’t bad even in peak season, they’re about 40% less in fall -- just $65 for 18 holes weekdays, and $75 Saturday and Sunday – starting October 9. There’s also less demand in fall than during peak season. Advanced tee times are available for an extra $20 per person, but you may want to call ahead to see if they’re needed: 866-855-4653, or book online at www.pinehillsgolf.com.
If you’re not an avid golfer, no worries. Relax outside the clubhouse, where a giant covered porch (if that’s the word) overlooks the course’s 300 spectacular acres. Overnight in Plymouth, and you’re close to spectacular attractions that include Plimoth Plantation and Cape Cod.
