Edaville is the vision of Ellis D. Atwood (his initials – E.D.A.—explain the park name) who created a local institution by building a 5 ½ mile sightseeing railroad around his cranberry planation. The reconfigured railroad still exists, but today Edaville is the area’s best family theme park, featuring 90+ rides and attractions.
The biggest draws are Dino Land – a pleasant walking trail populated with 23 animatronic dinosaurs – and Thomas Land – an 11.5 acre theme park that brings Thomas the Tank Engine’s Island of Sodor to life. It’s been a Top 3 Winner for Best New Amuseument Park Attraction as chosen by readers of USA Today. Admission includes everything the park offers except food, gifts, games and packaged events.
During the holidays, the park is known for its Christmas Festival of Lights, one of New England’s most memorable holiday traditions, where the park is lit with millions of Christmas lights.
