Providence Rink at Bank of America City Center
If the idea of taking a spin on the ice just feels like the holidays to you, The Providence Rink at the Bank of America City Center is one of the nation’s prettier locations to head.
Built in 1998 (when the ponds at Roger Williams Park were not freezing sufficiently), the rink is twice the size of Rockefeller Center in New York City, but no less charming, surrounded as it is by landmark buildings. It’s also (by and large) reasonably uncrowded. Prices are reasonable and they rent skates.
If skating leaves you tired enough so you want to keep walking to a minimum, we suggest retiring to the charming and classic Biltmore Hotel, which is right next door. Designed by the celebrated architecture firm best known for New York’s Grand Central Station, the Biltmore has been the center of Providence tradition since 1922.
